  • Malate Catholic Church, Malate, Manila is a Catholic Church build in the Baroque style in the 16th Century by the Augustinians. The statue of the Vurgin Mary pictured opposite was brought from Spain in 1624 and still stands at the altar. In the Catholic religion sense the Church is dedicated to '' Nuestra Senors de Remedios '' [ Our Lady of Remedies ] the patroness of childbirth.
  • The Church faces the Bay of Manila with a small park with monuments between it and the Bay. Malate is a district of Manila on Manila Bay.
  • The Church has experienced destruction from time to time. The British invaders occupied it in 1762 until 1763 when they attacked Intramuros. It was greatly damaged in June 3, 1863 by earthquake and then restored. This Church and parish has been under successive administrations of the Augustinians, The Secular clergy, ''The Redemptorists'' and the The Columbans.
